Hello Berkshire County, My name is Ray Arroyo, I'm the new
Interactive Sales Manager here at the Berkshire Eagle. I have recently moved to
the Berkshires from the Philadelphia Area, (Talk about a change) Aside me on
this journey is my wife Brooke, son Marc and our English Bulldog Robbie. So far
we seem to be adjusting quite well, but i must say that we became home sick the
1st few weeks.We have also learned a whole lot about this beautiful area, The
1st thing we learned is that everything is in Albany, so Chick Filla, Pf Changs
and some of our other favorite places to eat are no longer around the corner.
Next we learned that just because it says Philly Cheesesteak on the menu it
does not mean that it is a Philly Cheesesteak, for those of you that have
never had a real Philly Cheesesteak, they are not made with roast beef. So what
else have we learned? Hoagies are called Subs, Yard Sales are called Tag Sales,
There are more taxes than i would ever have imagined, And that you have
to stop for every single pedestrian, But the most important thing that we
quickly learned andl never forget is how wonderful and welcoming the people of
Berkshire County are and how ecstatic my wife and I are to be able to raise our
son in such a wonderful place.
