Introducing Peter Bergman
Peter Bergman was only 5-years-old when he started touring the countryside with his grandfather, a vaudeville actor, and was 15 when he reviewed his first play, "A Taste of Honey" by Shelagh Delaney at the Cort Theater on Broadway.

His local paper in Queens liked it so much they signed him on for three years until he graduated from high school and went on to review plays in London and Europe.
It's safe to say Bergman brings a lifetime of experience to his new role as the Advocate's theater critic.
"I'm lucky," he said, "because I've been seeing plays since I was an infant. The theater has literally surrounded my life since I was born."
Bergman started coming to Berkshire County from his native New York City in 1980 as a sound designer for the Berkshire Theatre Festival. Later, after moving here permanently, he worked as the Advocate's South County reporter for three years in the early 1990s and the Independent's art and theater critic for more than a decade until last year. He has also written and directed a number of his own plays.
His reviews will be appearing on this Web site throughout the theater season and linked to his site, www.berkshirebrightfocus.com.
