Dear Jennifer Morrison,
I think I owe you an apology. It was unfair of me to say I hated you, and it was unfair of me to say I hated Dr. Allison Cameron, the character you play on "House." It was unfair of me to say I hated Katharine McPhee on last season's "American Idol" just because she looked like you, but I think that particular apology goes to her.
It wasn't anything personal -- I don't know you. It just irked me that my favorite show had to have a token pretty girl. But that wasn't your fault, any more than it was Jesse Spencer's fault that he was the token pretty boy.
And I have to admit I hated the Cameron character, but again, that wasn't your fault. She was just so annoying. Always on everybody's case to do the "right" thing, always so judgmental of everybody else -- except, on occasion, Dr. House himself. And that annoyed me even more. Couldn't she be consistent in her judgments?
But in last night's episode, and the one before that, there were several moments that made me sit up and say, "Yeah, Cameron!" She's getting an edge this season, a much more believable edge than she had during the whole HIV scare last year. It's subtle, and it's admirable, and it's making me change my mind about her character.
And it's making me change my mind about you, too. So please accept my apology, Jennifer Morrison. I look forward to many more years of "House," and the show really wouldn't be the same without you.
-- Laura
PS: I would rethink the bangs, though. They really don't work.
