bleah
Okay, when I posted about sick-day shows the other day, I wasn't the sick one in my house. But I've caught the bug. Sore throat, coughing, congestion, runny nose and eyes, nausea -- even fever. Bleah.
I never get sick -- knock on wood -- but last night I even had to go home early from work, which never happens. The fever was really picking up, and I just felt awful. I got everything done before I left, of course, but still.
At my house, we can never decide what to watch. Usually one of us will pick a few things and have the other made the actual selection. Such are the trials of owning way too many DVDs and having way too many channels. So in my feverish state, I decided I wanted to watch "Loving Annabelle" (a very well-done indie film about a teacher who falls for a student), any episode(s) of "The Office" (always on my sick-day list), or "Mean Girls."
Yes, "Mean Girls." I had been against the movie on general principles -- the terrible trailers; the fact that it was about the kind of people who made my high school experience awful; the presence of Lindsay Lohan -- but we gave it a try because it was written by Tina Fey, and Fey plays a teacher in the flick, and we're big Fey fans around here. And it isn't that bad -- it's actually pretty funny. The reviews that called it a "Heathers" for today were ... well, half-right. It's hard to live up to "Heathers."
So "Mean Girls" is what we watched. Until, that is, I fell asleep.
