holy cow
Wow. So last night's "Office" finale was well worth the wait, and good enough to make up for the fact that we fans now have four whole months to wait for the DVDs and the super-sized Season Four.
So many great lines in this episode, and so many great interactions. The show really needs to be an hour long every week. From the Schrute Bucks and the Stanley Nickels to the big surprise (two of them!) Jan springs on Michael, to Dwight dubbing Pam secret assistant to the regional manager -- to Creed's blog and Dwight's Hell fantasy, in which he co-runs a bed and breakfast with Satan ... There's really just too much. And it's all great.
I'm so impressed with the writing; I'd been worried that the hyped "big surprise" in store for Jan and Michael would be a pregnancy, and that would have seemed too easy to me. Just something done for season-finale dramatic effect. But no, the writers and producers once again came through for me, keeping it all real while keeping it all really funny.
And the ending -- wow. What else can I say? The crazy impulsive Jim-Pam moment, and the last-minute twist with the corporate job ... It was perfect. Just perfect. And I can't wait to see where it all goes in Season Four.
