it's time for another 'office' quote!
Is it Thursday night already? "Office" season-finale time already? Oh dear.
Well, since I'm stuck here at work, fellow Eagle copy editor Kerry Sullivan has kindly e-mailed me a line from tonight's hourlong episode for this week's Who Said It? game.
The quote: "So I will need a new #2. My ideal choice? Jack Bauer. But he is unavailable, fictional and overqualified."
Who said it: Well, I have to guess Michael (Steve Carell) -- as the boss, he's the only one who has a second-in-command.
In this case, it's not so much who said it as WHY it was said.
If this quote means Jim (John Krasinski) was awarded the corporate job in New York, I will be very, very upset. For one thing, come on -- Jim already transferred away from the Scranton branch at the beginning of this season. It's been done!
Plus, it doesn't make sense to promote Jim ahead of Michael; the former has far less experience, especially supervisory experience, than the latter. Of course, the former is far more professional and has better social skills than the latter, so it is ever-so-slightly plausible.
Wow, okay -- my colleague has again picked a terrific, tantalizing quote to send me. This time, because it's thrown me into a tizzy of "I want to know what happens!"
Update: It was Dwight again! I'm going to guess him automatically next time ...
