komedy night done right!
A Cox News Service story by Jill Vejnoska reports that NBC, which announced its fall lineup yesterday, is changing little about its Thursday-night comedy shows except the volume.
The network's "Bulk-Up Challenge" involves ordering extra episodes of its big names -- 25 installments of "My Name is Earl" and 30 whole eppies of "The Office." Apparently this has something to do with an impending industry strike; networks everywhere are scrambling to make sure they'll still have something to air if a strike does occur.
I, for one, am all for extra episodes. As it is, I have no idea what I'm going to do this Thursday when I'm left to wait for "The Office" to start up again in the fall. Well, there are always reruns, and I'm trying to get in shape to hike the 94-mile Massachusetts leg of the Appalachian Trail -- so really, the less time I spend on the couch, the better.
Not that I won't be watching TV. Oh no. I have to have something to do in my downtime.
