Catch up

June 10, 2006: I really didn't plan on doing a blog of my yard work so you will have to forgive me that I am starting my notes from June 10

and not with a barren and cold view of late winter. In fact the blog needs a lot of catching up to do seeing that it is now July 29. For a while these entries will play catch up - but hopefully they will entertain and interest you all while doing so. I have been taking hand written notes since June 10 and taking photos too. In fact this may be more of a photo blog at times than a literary one. Well ok. It will never be a literary one. Here goes.

First some photos to catch you up on how the yard looked on June 10, 2006. These are series of views that you be seeing again and again in a progressive march through the seasons, or to mass confusion depending on your point of view.

June 10, 2006 the west path. This is the way to the main entrance, which is on the solar south of the house. The story of the house itself is a story that may come. But for now lets just say it is a passive solar earth berm structure.

June 10, 2006 west house-view. This is the west side yard looking at the entry of the house. The path is there somewhere and can you find the Baby Dog?

6-10-back-path-w.jpg
June 10, 2006 back-path. This is looking back into the woods. More to come about that too. Ok you can’t quite make out the path (yet).

You have almost made a circuit around the house now. You have seen the Tiger Lilies that are on the berms. These were planted over twenty years ago from plants I saved from roadside oblivion. Over the years I split, divided and replanted them. A process still going on.

6-10-front-path-w.jpg
June 10, 2006 front path. Ok the path is not there yet. This is the front yard looking north east. HEY I hear something. Cloppity Clop. . .

Our up the road neighbor out for a jaunt. Yes there is another story here. . . for another day.
