Wonder... (the other kind)

They stand
They spill
Puff
Are free
The breeze takes them
Off they go into the unknown
On the wind
To float
Soar
Linger
Touch
Know
See the world from above
Go by
To land
Nestled in welcoming arms
Loving through the winter
Warm
Safe
To come forth anew
To stand strong
Confident
Wanted
Loved
Again
Every time you see two of something... (X someone)

Picked on October 15, 2006 these two grew in my pumpkin patch from seeds.
From a tiny seed.
Growth.
Life.
October 15, 2006 our second hard frost. The Morning Glories have gone.

It's time to cut back everything.

Time to get ready for a new life.
After a 'FABULOUS' weekend (BXsJ&JXsB) I start my hacking. I cut back the old growth on the berms.
I still have to rake them down and then cut back the rest of the yard but this is a good start.
Getting ready for the winter.

All warm inside...

Every time you see two of something... (X someone)
On October 1, 2006 I found this Wooly Bear caterpillar on my doorstep.

It was almost totally black with very thin stripes. It big and puffed up. So is it - all black - a sign of a long hard winter? I think so.
On September 24, 2006 I decided to make sure the chimney was ready for winter fires and take some photos of the yard from above.

It is interesting looking back.
At this foggy mist.
Against today's bright 'wonder'

From September 2006 notebook:
• Ernesto breezes by September on or around the 4th.

• Morning Glories first bloom (I planted them very late). How do you like my clothes hanger trellis?

• I re-edged the path and with Carlo's help took my old pickup truck cap to the dump.

• September 10th I planted a Japanese maple that Annie gave me.

From August 2006 notebook:
• I picked the first veggies from my little garden patch. Green bell peppers and hot red cherries cooked up with pasta and sausage.
• My brother Carlo is staying with me a few weeks while working on a house up in Egremont. Nice to spend some time together.
• More leaves already changing color.
