December 5, 2006 through January 25, 2007 Update
Yes, it has been a while.
The snow on the 5th of December is still the most we've seen in the yard so far.
The holiday season was a sad one with the passing of my Dad on December 21st. The yard has gone through snow, a very warm spell and now very cold. There is a big gap in the woodpile but we are warm inside.
It is interesting that with the cold the gravel in path is frozen and hard. There is no give underfoot. No indentations when you step. Hard. Hard and cold. Like the stone has been fused together. I miss the warmth. But the days are getting longer. The depth of winter was on the 21st the Solstice. Fitting that that was when my Dad passed. The Winter too will transform into Spring and then Summer as the cycle of birth, life and rebirth repeats. There is no death only transformation.
