Tonight after work I'll be back at the path...

Here is my progress so far...
Things are moving ahead.
More of the path is being prepared...
Marble is making its way from Joey's...
Gravel has been delivered...
We also went to a wedding, to Tanglewood and picked up and delivered art work, had a going away party at Joey's...
More spreading, contouring and cutting steps...

We cut these into the berm. They will lead down onto the yard level and then down into the woods.
Entry path:

Sample of the marble tile. Joey has about twenty of these 2' x 2' tiles that we will mix with slate to create a seating area.

Relaxing in the shade.

Another day done.
As you can see the area for the terrace had to be really built up. That meant that the entry paths needed to be built up so there was a gradual incline up onto the level terrace.
This meant that we needed more fill to build up the path.

Another full truckload of fill was used to transition between the flat terrace and the path.

We also needed it to build out the organic shape of the contour more.

Coming down the entry path we wanted our visitors to gently climb, round the bend and enter the terrace area.

Our potted vegetable plants will soon (or at least next year) find a home in the ground.
It's so much fun!
Stone Dust is like sand, but is used to bed the surface stone and keep the weeds down. Spread by hand and then raked level.

We left a well packed ramp so they could dump the Stone Dust right up there in the center of the terrace.

Looking at the pile from inside the house.

The eastern contour wall that I started...

In moonlight it looks like snow.

View from the entry door.
Joey and I dug a new trench and hooked up the "green" uncrushable (we hope) drainage pipe. The new sections go back to the line of Tall Daises at the edge of the berm.

I'll add up the by tons, by yards of "Sandy Fill" that came in.

Piled up and then moved, leveled and compacted by Joe's tractor.

A stone wall will go along this contour edge.

We're getting closer to be level with the floor of the house.
